Two non-University of Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK(UA) individuals were involved in what appears to be an accidental weapon discharge situation at UA’s Exchange Street Residence Hall early Saturday morning.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Police Department (UAPD) and the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPKPolice Department responded to a call of a shot fired in the residence hall.
The victim, a 19-year old male, was taken to Â鶹ÊÓƵAPKGeneral Cleveland Clinic Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The suspect, a 17-year old male, is in custody. The victim and the suspect are known to be acquainted.
The names of the suspect and the victim are not being released at this point.
The campus has been notified that the incident scene has been secured and the investigation is ongoing.
